  • Green Tea Acne Scar Treatment

This summer we spent a lot of time outdoors in the pool. I was beginning to worry because my skin was getting that leathery look and all I could to was cover it up with makeup. I also have acne scars, which just makes the problem worse. In one of my many efforts to achieve better health, I started drinking green tea.

I did know green tea was good for my skin, what I didn’t
know is that I would see visible results so quickly, especially for my
acne scars. The scars really have gone, or more likely been filled in with new skin growth. I’ve been drinking two cups of green tea on a regular basis now for a
little over a month, but I noticed a difference in about two weeks. I wish I’d taken a picture of my skin as a before picture.

I’ve concluded that green tea is my acne scar treatment. What will happen if I stop drinking the green tea? I don’t know, but I do like the taste and it’s good for my health, so I’ll continue.

  • Natural Care for Acne - Green Tea

Posted on August 18th, 2008 admin No comments

Acne affects approximately 17 million people in the U.S.  Teenagers are not the only ones who suffer from acne.  It can affect people even into their forties, especially women.  I know this is true because I have suffered from acne off and on throughout my adulthood. Hormones are a major factor in acne since they contribute to the production of excess sebum (natural skin oils).

Aside from the debates whether or not foods contribute to acne, it is clear that following a regular skin care routine is important.  I personally prefer natural skin care remedies containing herbs, especially those with green tea.   Green tea contains many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants which benefit the skin. I recommend green tea skin care products by John Masters Organics.

Green tea contains anti-microbials which help combat bacteria that reach the skin from touching the face or from environmental toxins.  It is also astringent due to tannins, which help close the pores and dry up the excess of oils.  Those suffering from inflammatory acne know how painful it can be.  Green tea soothes sensitive inflamed skin, helping it to heal faster.  Also, some evidence suggests green tea influences and regulates hormonal activity, though most of this research is focused on green tea for breast cancer.

When used in a regular skin care routine for acne, green tea is may prove very beneficial.
